Happy List # 1

I am participating in the Happy Book Mail Around hosted by the lovely Jamie Ridler. Each week she encourages all who are participating in the mail around to share what makes them happy. I have decided to do this in the form of a weekly Happy List. Here are the things that have made me happy this week:

  • Getting accepted in to my dream social work program after months of paper work. The best part I get to start taking classes next week that will lead me to getting my Masters in Social Work.
  • Launching Ellecubed 2.0 and getting supportive and encouraging tweets, emails and comments.
  • Creating and putting together my new Planner Pad. I had so much fun deciding what paper to  use, which things to add and how to get it bound.
  • Watching documentaries on a variety of subjects.  Over the past couple of weeks I have had the pleasure of watching Food Inc, Enlighten Up, Crazy Sexy Cancer and Valentino.
  • Style Statement: This is probably the best book that I have read in the past year. It is chock full of goodness and has allowed me to learn more about my authentic self. As I work through the process of figuring out my style statement, I am having so much fun doing the written exercises and oogling the beautiful pictures. If you would like to learn more about the book, the lovely Analiese Marie of Tulips and Tea did a lovely write up of the book here that inspired me to check it out of the library.
  • Taking 15 minute walks in the sunshine. The past couple of weeks have been really dark and gray in Toronto. This week however we have had a few days with shiny blue skies. On each of these days, I have gone out for a walk in the sun and have felt so much better after doing it.
  • Winding down the evening with a hot bath full of sea salt + bubbles, a good magazine and my journal

What about you lovelies? What is making you happy this week? Are you participating in the Happy Book Mail Around?

Thanks so much for the shout-out! I’m so glad you’re enjoying Style Statement. I’m working my way through it still. Zeroing in on some key words. It’s interesting to see what kind of themes emerge, isn’t it?

Oh, and I have been wanting to watch Crazy Sexy Cancer. Was it good?

What a happy, productive week:) I think I shall take a cue from you & have a nice soak in the tub this weekend!

@LissaL Thank you for your lovely comment. This week really was lovely and productive. I hope you enjoy your soak in the tub this weekend.

@analiesemarie . I am so thankful to you for suggesting the book. It really is interesting to see the themes that emerge. I have been so surprised and had more than a few wow moments when reflecting on the themes.

I absolutely adored Crazy Sexy Cancer. If you love Kris Carr and her blog, you will definitely love the documentary. It is so infused with her sassy spirit.

Congratulations on being accepted in your dream program. After reading your wonderful list and all the things you are doing, I know they are very lucky to have you. I loved Style Statement too and was lucky enough to have my statement done with Danielle a while back. I’ll look forward to hearing what yours is. Mine is Current Radiance :)

Wow, what a lot going on for you! How wonderful that you got into the program you wanted – and that you don’t have to wait long to start. I find the getting out on these winter days helpful, too. It sometimes takes a little push to make myself go – but once I’m out it feels great, and I have so much more energy when I get home again. Have a great week!

@Jamie: Thank you for the congratulations on the MSW program. It is so amazing that you were able to do your Style Statement with Danielle. Current radiance is such a lovely way to describe you.
